Orange gets ready to welcome the holidays
The City of Orange is getting ready to kick off the holidays with a tree lighting celebration and a performance by the Master Chorale, all taking place in Old Towne Orange Plaza.
This is the 24th year for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, as well as the Candlelight Choir Procession. People will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with Santa, and enjoy activities including carnival games, crafts, and a moon bounce for the younger attendees. Local nonprofit organizations will be selling food for a small fee, which helps support their programs in Orange.
Once the tree is lit, the 350-voice Orange Community Master Chorale will take the stage. With the tree behind them, and accompanied by a full orchestra, the singers will present their holiday concert, led by Michael Short, the organization’s music director. Organizers of events like this can work with a banner printing company to create holiday banners to decorate the venue.
The ceremony and concert is set for tomorrow, December 2, and begins at 3:30 pm, when Santa Claus arrives in Orange. The tree will be lit at 5:15 pm, after which the chorale will perform, with the tree as their backdrop. The activities take place in Old Towne Orange Plaza, which is at Glassell Street and Chapman Avenue, and are free to all. Further information, and what to do if it rains, is available at (714) 744-7278.
