Orange County to welcome summer art fest

Residents of Orange will have the opportunity to attend the 54th Annual Sawdust Art Festival this summer, held in Laguna Beach.

The event brings over 200 local artisans to showcase their handmade crafts. Art demonstrations are on the agenda and will take place at scheduled times during the festival. Classes are also available. Sawdust Art Classes are open year-round and focus on jewelry making, painting, fused glass and glassblowing.

Art exhibitors may offer ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, textile and fiber crafts, photography, leather and metalwork, paintings and drawings. Artwork must be presented for approval in advance by the event organizer team.

Vendors and exhibitors often use the services of local print shops to prepare materials for events of this nature, such as business card printing. Having an ample supply of business cards to distribute can create future sales and revenues.

The festival began on a dirt lot years ago and has evolved into a major event for the region benefiting the Art Enrichment Fund. Educating the public about art created locally has always been the mission of the Sawdust Art Festival. The fund accepts monetary donations along with bequests to fulfill the mission and goals of the non-profit organization.

The annual summer Sawdust Art Festival will take place June 26 to August 30 and is open daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. More information is available via the event website.
