Orange celebrates the season
Three traditional Orange Christmas holiday events will be held in the coming weeks.
To get everybody in the Christmas spirit, Irvine Park Railroad will open its Santa’s Village on November 24. Activities will include Blizzard Ball, Ice Fishing and Rudolph Racers. Guests may make ornaments and decorate cookies, play carnival games, jump in a moon bounce, and purchase four minutes of digging time with a mini digger.
Although admission will be free, the activities will require tickets ($7 each). Santa’s village will be behind the train station.
Old Towne Orange Plaza will hold its 28th free Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Candlelight Choir Procession featuring activities such as photos with Santa, entertainment, and bounce and craft houses for the little ones.
The event will begin at 3:30 pm and end at 7:00 pm with the music program starting at 5:15 pm on Sunday, December 3.
From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday, December 10, the Orange County Zoo will have a special Christmas at the OC Zoo. Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet and greet the children, and kids may enjoy games and crafts. Everyone will enjoy watching the animals receive their treat-filled gifts.
Although the event will be free, admission to the Zoo will be the usual $2 per person.
Organizers often have pictures taken during events like these. These may go to local print shops to be included in visitor guides.
