Merced to have science-themed summer camp

The Kids Discovery Station in Merced will hold a special summer program for children ages 6-10.

The STEAM Summer Camp is a multi-week experience where kids can enjoy fun and educational activities. Children will get to complete activities at the Kids Discovery Station and bring home projects. Campers will also receive complimentary access to the venue’s museum. Lunch and water will be provided by the organizers, and campers are allowed to bring their own nut-free snacks. Parents and guardians do not need to be present throughout the camp.

The Kids Discovery Station is a family-friendly nonprofit organization that uses hands-on and stimulating activities to help children learn about various subjects through play. The facility has indoor and outdoor exhibits for kids to explore, such as Innovation Island, Creativity City, and the Little Explorers Planet. Mayya Tokman is the station’s president. Matthew Migliazzo, Rick Marchini, and Amanda Ingram are the directors of the nonprofit group.

The weekly summer camps will be from June 10th to August 2nd. The daily camp sessions start at 8:30 am and finish at 3:30 pm. Members of the discovery station can pay $135 per week for the camp, and non-members can pay $150. Those who are part of the Family Access and Inclusion Program may pay $25. Nonprofits that host child-friendly programs like this may use poster printing to advertise their camps to families in their communities.
