Annual fair spins its way into Merced

The Merced County Fair is returning to this June to the Merced County Fairgrounds.

The Valley Children’s Hospital-sponsored event includes typical fair food treats, live shows, rollercoasters, and more. Established in 1891, the Merced County Fair lasts for four days, with attractions, concerts, exhibits and even an education program.

The Early Childhood Literacy Program has expanded in 2026, thanks in part to a collaboration with First 5 Merced County, the Merced County Library, and Valley Children's Healthcare. Thanks to the program, the fair includes a Reading Zone for children with daily story times, spacious seating and family-friendly activities.

A make-believe pirate and shipwreck, comedic hypnotist, jugglers, clowns, sea lions, and tractor parade are just some of the attractions offered at the fair.

In terms of traditional carnival rides, everything from a tilt-a-whirl to a haunted house are part of the festivities. Other rides are titled Inversion, Cyclone, Flying Bob, Grand Carousel, and Zipper.

Tickets for the fair cost $15 for ages 13 and up, with children 12 and under free. There are also unlimited carnival ride wristbands that cost $37 to $42, depending on the day. Discounts are available for advance sales online. Fairs like this may choose to use flyer printing for vendor, ride, and live show promotions.

The Merced County Fair is happening Wednesday, June 10 to Friday, June 12 from 5:00 pm to 12:30 am, and on June 13 and 14 from 3:00 pm to 12:30 am.
