Candy buy-back event held in Merced
A Halloween Candy Buy Back event is being held at the Pearl Family Dentistry in Merced this November.
In a unique charity drive, people will be able to collect a small piece of compensation for their unused Halloween candy while also providing the sweets to those most in need of a pick-me-up.
The candy that is collected, either through the buy-back program or through donations, will be sent to troops overseas.
For the first week of November, Pearl Family Dentistry will collect the candy, followed by a public event they will host on the last day.
People participating in the buy-back program are eligible to receive $1 of compensation for every pound of candy, with a limit of 10 pounds in total.
Free merchandise, face painting, vendors, and a bounce house will all be included in the celebrations.
For several years, Pearl Family Dentistry has been holding the candy buy-back event, often collecting hundreds of pounds of sweets in the process. The first one was held back in 2018.
Charity drives like this may choose to use business card printing to help establish community partnerships during fundraising events.
People can drop off their candy at the dentist's office beginning on Monday, November 3, with the Halloween Candy Buy Back celebration happening on Friday, November 7 at 2:00 pm. at Pearl Family Dentistry at 676 Loughborough Dr. in Merced.
