Disney smash hit screening in Merced
The iconic Disney animated film Frozen is screening at Pioneer Elementary School in Merced this October.
The family-friendly event, organized by the Weaver Performing Arts Boosters, features a concession stand with food, snacks and drinks. In addition, participants are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
Frozen stars Idina Menzel as Elsa, the princess with supernatural powers who can turn anything into ice. In the film, Elsa’s sister Anna becomes estranged from her after the family uses magic to erase Anna's memories in order to hide Elsa's powers from her.
At the time of its release, Frozen launched Disney into the stratosphere with profits, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time on the international market. The film grossed $729.3 million in its theatrical run, surpassing the then-record holder Ice Age 4.
The film was also critically acclaimed, earning two Academy Awards in 2014 for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year and Best Achievement in Music Written for a Motion Picture, for the song “Let It Go.”
Film screenings like this may choose to use graphic design services on print and online for promotion in order to attract more local residents to attend.
Frozen will screen on Friday, October 3, with doors opening at 5:30 pm and the film set to begin at 6:30 pm, at Pioneer Elementary School at 2950 E. Gerard Ave in Merced.
