Merced summit to demystify child mental health

First 5 Merced County will be organizing a conference in August to teach families about childhood mental health.

The Merced County Annual Children's Summit is an informative event where parents can learn about the importance of taking care of the mental health of their kids. The program's keynote speaker will be Barbara Stroud, a licensed psychologist with more than 30 years of experience. She is also the inaugural president of the California Association for Infant Mental Health and has written multiple Books. Stroud even won the Bruce D. Perry Spirit of the Child Award.

First 5 Merced County is an organization that offers beneficial services to children in need. The group uses money earned from cigarette sales to support programs like Help 4 My Child and the First 5 IMPACT Program. The organization also helps fund new family-related projects through sponsorships, general mini-grants, and innovation grants. Groups that benefit the community like this can use brochure printing to teach people about their programs.

The children's summit will take place on Wednesday, August 31 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no cost to attend the conference, and lunch will be provided to all guests. Only the first 300 registrants will be allowed to join the in-person event. A virtual version of the summit will be broadcasted to those who cannot attend the live program.
