Walnut Creek First Wednesdays, a popular summer event in the area, has been postponed due to the coronavirus global pandemic.
The evening event was supposed to begin May 6, but organizers have cancelled the May 6 and June 3 events due to health concerns surrounding COVID-19.
Residents of Lafayette can look forward to when Walnut Creek First Wednesdays does in fact begin, as they may want to take the quick 10-minute drive east after work or after school. The street party includes live music and dancing, as well as food vendors, wine, and beer and a special area designed to keep children entertained.
The postponement means there will only be three street parties this summer – in July, August, and September. The band Mustache Harbor is scheduled for the outdoor stage for the July party. According to the band's website, it is a party band that specializes in ‘80s soft rock.
Vendors and organizers at events such as these can use Print shops for Banners and Signs, or Brochures and Menus for customers.
Walnut Creek First Wednesdays is scheduled to begin on July 1 between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm on Cyprus Street between Main and Locust. Due to the coronavirus situation, Lafayette residents interested in attending should double-check local listings for dates and times closer to the event date. The other Wednesday parties are scheduled for August 5 and September 2.
