Thanksgiving breakfast to return to Lafayette

Lafayette is hosting its annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast this November.

The event is intended to be a celebration of community and collaboration that brings together businesses, residents, and local leaders. It will include breakfast provided by Sunrise Bistro and Catering and a speaker from Sunflower Hill. Sunrise Bistro is a family-owned and operated breakfast and lunch restaurant that serves a varied menu.

Sunflower Hill is a nonprofit that works to provide affordable and accessible housing. The talk will be called Designing Dignity: Inclusive Housing for Neurodivergent Communities and will focus on the group's new permanent supportive housing project, which uses intentional architecture, community partnerships and support services to create a home for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sunflower Hill was founded in 2012 by a group of parents looking for solutions for their disabled adult children. Nonprofits often use brochure printing services to share information about their programs at community events.

Those planning to attend can register on the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce website until November 12, or for as long as space is available. The venue has room for up to 150 attendees, so tickets often sell out. Photos of last year’s breakfast from Jeff Heyman Fine Art Photography are available on the Chamber’s website.

The Community Thanksgiving Breakfast will be on Tuesday, November 18, from 7:00 am to 8:30 am at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center.
