The City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce are hosting the annual Res Run for Education this fall.
Runners can choose from three events on race day. The 5k race, which is a flat route along Mount Diablo Boulevard, starts at 8:00 am. The 10k is a hilly course around the reservoir and starts at 8:15 am. Both races are chip-timed on certified courses. A two-mile untimed fun run and walk will start at 8:45 am. Dogs and strollers are welcome on the fun run and 10k courses but not the 5k.
Those planning to participate can register online. The fees are $45 for the 5k, $50 for the 10k and $40 for the fun run. Runners can pick up their race packets the week before the race and on race day starting at 7:15 am. Packets include a long-sleeve T-shirt and a race bib. Organizers often use Graphic Design Services to create race shirts.
Proceeds from the race will support schools in Lafayette and some of the Chamber’s educational groups and programs. Participants can also choose to direct donations to a specific school. Parking meters will be operating, but free parking is available in the BART lot. Water stations will also be available at three locations along the race routes.
The Lafayette Res Run for Education will be on Sunday, October 19.
