Contra Costa College is hosting a Nonprofit Board & Community Partnership Fair this spring.
The event is intended to help nonprofits looking for a diverse pool of qualified board members and individuals looking to contribute to the community through volunteer work connect. It will include a board recruitment “speed dating” session designed to allow nonprofits and prospective board members to quickly determine whether they might be a good fit. A services expo will feature different nonprofit organizations as well.
There will also be lunch, a presentation on compliance requirements for nonprofits and a panel discussion with local elected officials. Attendees can choose from three class options. Board Service 101 is intended for new and prospective board members, while Fundraising Strategies and Nonprofit Financial Management are both intended for current nonprofit leaders.
The fair is open to anyone interested in nonprofit board membership in Contra Costa County, including residents of Lafayette and other towns. It is free for nonprofits and prospective board members, but they should reserve tickets through Eventbrite. Organizations can book vendor tables for $250, also through Eventbrite. Vendors often use brochure printing services to provide information about their organization’s work at this type of event.
The fair will take place on Saturday, March 28 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, at Contra Costa College.
