OUR ISLA is hosting an exhibition and sale featuring Black Picasso at Holistika in Lafayette this winter.
The event will include music and tea. Black Picasso’s work will be on display and available for purchase. His recent pieces include the “Attack of the 50ft Woman” T-shirt, which appeared in four of LaRussell and Hit-Boy’s music videos. Munson-Williams also recognized the piece he created for Juneteenth in 2025, “Mae on Mars: Celebrating the First Black Woman in Space,” with an award.
Black Picasso studied at the New England Art Institute, where he met and collaborated with Adrian Brown. The pair designed six denim jackets for Drake, which led to recognition both on social media and in more traditional media outlets. Black Picasso is now based in Oakland and focuses on creating logos and clothing. He also works on mental health advocacy and establishing artistic opportunities for others.
Tickets are available on Holistika’s website using a “pay what you wish” system. Attendees can choose to pay between $10 and $100, depending on their ability. Holistika members can also sign in to their accounts to reserve a ticket. Local arts venues often use flyer printing services to promote their events.
