Lafayette to host trick-or-treating event

Downtown Lafayette is hosting a trick-or-treating event for local kids this fall.

Children and their parents can visit participating businesses, which will be giving out candy during the Trick or Treat Street event. The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce hopes to provide a fun and safe way for families to celebrate Halloween. Kids should wear their costumes and bring a bag or bucket for their candy and treats.

The event is free to attend. The Chamber recommends it for children ages nine and younger, but all ages are welcome. Businesses will be located throughout downtown Lafayette on Lafayette Circle, in La Fiesta Plaza, and on Mt. Diablo Boulevard between Lafayette Plaza and Dewing Avenue. Businesses that have committed to participating so far include Tutu’s Food & Drink, Solano Jewelers, First Mile Cycle Works, and Town Hall Theatre. The list will be updated as the event approaches.

Businesses participating in Trick or Treat Street will have a trick-or-treat poster displayed. Organizers often use poster printing services to create these materials. Shops and restaurants need to be members of the Lafayette Chamber to participate. A sign-up form is available now on the Chamber’s website. Participating businesses should expect to serve around 1,000 trick-or-treaters.

Trick or Treat Street will take place on Friday, October 25 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in downtown Lafayette.
