Lafayette runs for education

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Lafayette will co-host the 2021 Lafayette Res Run for Education.

The run is a family-friendly and popular annual event held every year. Everyone is welcome to participate including children, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends. Hundreds of runners join in the fun from across the bay area. The event offers 5K, 10K and a two-mile route. Spectators will see walkers, runners, sprinters, the “stroller brigade” and four legged participants in this activity.

The starting point for the race is on Mt. Diablo Blvd and will take runners through the downtown area. Times will be staggered with 5K starting at 8:00 a.m. 10K begins at 8:15 a.m. and the two-mile activity will kick-off at 8:45 a.m.

Banners are often used to present information to participants in outdoor athletic events. The banner printing can include content such as directions for the routes, concession stands, parking and restroom facilities. They can be placed at any point where guidance is needed.

Proceeds from the run go to local schools and related programs and services within the chamber. Thousands of dollars have been raised through the runs to give back to the community each year.

The race will take place on October 24. Registration to participate is available via the chamber’s website. Race packets may be picked up in advance.
