Lafayette nonprofit to host fundraising gala

The Community Foundation of Lafayette is hosting its Summer Soiree fundraiser this September.

The outdoor event will include champagne and hors d’oeuvres, a three-course sit-down dinner with a wine pairing for each course, and a dessert bar. In addition to the included wines, a cash bar with both cocktails and mocktails will be available. There will also be a live auction and dancing. Proceeds will support the Community Foundation, which helps donors find the right local nonprofits to support. It has given out more than $1.2 million in grants over the past 20 years.

Local rock cover band Other People’s Money (OPM) will perform throughout the evening. The group has performed around California, including at fundraising events where it has raised more than $300,000 for various community organizations. The group promises a high-energy show.

The Summer Soiree has sold out in the past, so those planning to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible. Tickets can be purchased online and cost $200 per person. Attendees can list those they would like to sit with in the special requests section of the registration form. Fundraising event organizers often use banner printing services to promote businesses sponsoring the event.

The Summer Soiree will take place on Saturday, September 9, starting at 6:00 pm at the Lafayette Library Amphitheatre and Patios.
