Education fundraising run to return to Lafayette

The City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce are hosting the annual Res Run for Education this fall.

The event will include several race options for participants of all ages and abilities. The morning starts with a timed 5k race on a flat course. The second race is a timed 10k. The 10k course has several hills, and participants are welcome to bring their dogs on leashes and babies in strollers. Finally, an untimed two-mile fun run is open to runners, walkers, dogs, and strollers.

Runners can sign up in advance online. The registration cost for the timed races is $45 per person, and the fun run costs $35. Participants can sign up any time before the day of the race, but the fees will increase by $5 on October 13. Proceeds from the race will support local schools and some Chamber of Commerce programs.

Metered parking will be available downtown, and free parking will be available in the BART lots. Participants will be able to pick up their race bibs and T-Shirts at the Lafayette Chamber office ahead of time or on the morning of the race starting at 7:00 am. Race organizers often work with Print shops to produce bibs and other materials.

The Lafayette Res Run for Education will take place on Sunday, October 22, starting at 8:00 am.
