An upcoming event in Escondido features out-of-this-world activities.
The San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is hosting Family Space Night 2022. Attendees will be able to explore STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math) subjects and discover what interests them.
There will be organizations on hand to enhance the experience. Participants are the San Diego Astronomy Association, who will explain telescopes; the San Diego Air and Space Museum, who will talk about stomp rockets; and the Millennium Falcons, the robotics team from Torrey Pines High School, who will discuss robotics.
Representatives from the Escondido Public Library will help youngsters with crayons resist art of outer space subjects, while the UCSD Physics Outreach team will discuss the James Webb telescope. NASA Solar System Ambassadors will talk about exploring the red planet with the Mars Rover, and Ozobots, which builds robots and teaching coding, will talk about space exploration, as well as other events that are planned. Finally, the evening winds up with a dance party jam that glows in the dark.
Wood-fired pizza will be available from the Big Oven Pizza food truck, and discounts are available to military personnel and EBT/WIC/SNAP recipients. When events like these are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create a schedule for attendees.
Family Space Night is November 12, beginning at 5.00 pm. The museum is on North Broadway in Escondido. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members, and registration is required.
