Escondidos wine scene takes center stage

Edible San Diego will host Reflections: Uncorked — A San Diego Wine Guide Celebration this December.

The event will honor the release of its milestone 80th issue dedicated to local viticulture. It invites guests to explore the region’s rich wine heritage through tastings, local fare, and conversations with area winemakers.

San Diego County, known as the birthplace of California winemaking, boasts more than 100 wineries and three federally recognized American Viticultural Areas, including Ramona Valley, San Luis Rey, and San Pasqual Valley. Many of these wineries are small, family-owned operations that produce boutique vintages reflecting the diversity and character of the region’s land and climate.

The 80th issue of Edible San Diego serves as the county’s first comprehensive local wine guide, featuring historical essays, profiles of winemakers, vineyard photography, and a detailed tasting room directory.

Admission is $25 and includes one drink, appetizers, and a complimentary copy of the special edition. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Women’s Wine Alliance Scholarship program. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase during the event.

Organizers may use brochure printing to highlight the region’s wine heritage and promote community engagement for events such as this one.

The celebration will take place on Thursday, December 4 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery, 3255 Summit Drive, Escondido.
