Plenty of pumpkins to pick in Escondido Pumpkin Patch

A fall tradition in the Escondido area has begun, as The Pumpkin Patch at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center is now open.

The Pumpkin Patch opened on Saturday, September 21 and will be open every day until Wednesday October 31.

The Bates Nut Farm has been home to the now famous event for more than 50 years. Attendees can take part in hay rides, a corn maze, a petting zoo and pony rides, and there will food and beverage trucks and live music on weekends.

The monthlong festival also features one-time events such as an antique tractor show, a craft fair, and costume contests – one for people, and one for dogs.

Admission is free, although there is a $5 per vehicle parking charge on weekends. Some of the activities have a charge of between $2.50 to $8.

Children’s activities include a bounce house, a slide, and a rock climb. Guests can also peruse a wide variety of home grown pumpkins on the farm, from mini pumpkins to massive pumpkins, and squash and other gourds of all shapes and sizes.

Printing services can be invaluable at events like these, as maps or event information can be shared and distributed with brochure printing and poster printing.

The event is at 15954 Woods Valley Rd. Hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm on weekdays, and 8:30am to 6:00pm on weekends. On Friday, October 11 and Friday, October 18, hours are 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
