Tucson’s Groundworks is hosting a performance by four up-and-coming punk and alternative rock bands this fall.
With Glass Generation headlining, the concert features support from No Objective, Porcelain Scorpion and Featherframe.
The Los Angeles-based Glass Generation is a post-punk outfit fronted by lead singer and guitarist Stefan Kennedy, bassist Samuel Pacheco-Villegas and musician siblings: guitarist Yu Cheng and drummer/singer Lo Kuei Na.
Formed in 2019 and started in Lo’s garage, Glass Generation takes its influence from the likes of Nirvana, Muse, Blink-182 and Nirvana, among others.
Glass Generation represents each member’s first band, though many of them dabbled in music prior to joining, such as Stefan being influenced by his rockabilly great-grandfather growing up, Cheng starting piano at age 5, Lo playing in cover bands and Sam having a background in classical music.
Rock band Porcelain Scorpion and shoegaze torchbearers Featherframe and punk/emo outfit No Objective all hail from the Tucson area.
Groundworks, the venue for the concert, is a non-profit organization for local youth to help foster the musical talents of up-and-coming musicians through education programs and all-ages concerts.
