Annual holiday parade comes to Tucson

Tucson is hosting its Downtown Parade of Lights and Festival this December.

The free event will include a parade, Spanish-language and English-language emcees, and food trucks.

The parade begins at 17th Street, traversing north along 4th Avenue all the way to 12th Street, where it will turn west toward 6th Avenue and conclude at Armory Park. Meanwhile, open-air food vendors can be found along 12th Street between Scott and 6th Avenue.

People viewing the parade are asked to pick up trash after themselves, avoid entering the street where the parade is traveling, and be respectful to others. In addition, the parade does not allow walk-on participants, so anyone who wants to take part has to register ahead of time.

The English-language emcee booth is located on 6th Avenue between 12th and 13th streets, while the Spanish-language emcee can be found on 12th Street and 4th Avenue. These booths are also the place to report a lost child. There are also portable toilets located along 6th Avenue, at 12th and 15th streets, and more along 4th Avenue, at 12th and 16th streets.

Holiday parade events like this may choose to use poster or banner printing so that participants can make their own Signs.

The Downtown Parade of Lights and Festival is happening on Saturday, December 6 at 6:30 pm in downtown Tucson.
