Book festival returns to Tucson

The Tucson Festival of Books is returning to the University of Arizona Mall this March.

Elysabeth Grace, L.L. Madrid, Mia Heintzelman, Sanaa Chege, Riley Andrews, Thomas Wolf, Michelle Yang, Shannon Reedy and Francies Gary Powers Jr., among many others, will be some of the independent authors featured at the festival this year.

Author panels, including some children’s book authors, will be among the activities. There will also be performance art entertainment events, food and beverage vendors, exhibitors, literary award presentations, merchandise, talks hosted by teen authors and a 10% off discount at the University of Arizona Campus store during the festival.

After an opening Storybook Parade and National Anthem song, each of the two days of the festival will be chock-full of authors giving presentations from a variety of genres, including travel, true crime, poetry, memoir, graphic novel, history, culinary and science fiction.

While the entry to the festival itself is free, there are parking fees of $10 per day at various garages and surface lots, though there are some free parking spaces around campus. The festival is also accessible through various public transportation options, including the SunTran bus system and the SunLink streetcar.

Book festivals like this may choose to use Print shops to create literature samples, panel schedules and vendor Signs.

The Tucson Festival of Books is happening on March 14-15 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm each day at the University of Arizona Mall at 1303 E University Blvd in Tucson.
