Millie’s Pancake Haus, a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch with a European twist located on the east side of Tucson, recently announced that it will be adding wine, beer, and other mixed drinks to its menu.
The owner of the restaurant, Dean Griffith, may well be turning to poster printing to make this announcement to the community of current and potential customers.
Griffith has submitted an application for a liquor license and hopes that alcoholic options will be available by the middle of summer. He said that he applied for license as a response to requests from customers.
According to Griffith, there were so many customers asking about it ,that he felt he needed to consider it. Although he describes it as “a little expensive”, he feels it will be worth it if he can keep his current customers happy and attract new ones.
The alcoholic selections will concentrate on wine, beer, and simple cocktails, including Bloody Marys and mimosas.
The restaurant is known for its wide selection of pancakes, which includes everything from basic buttermilk to flavored pancakes such as chocolate chip, banana, blueberry, and strawberry. More European options include German and Swedish pancakes, French crepes, and Russian blintzes. Other specialties include homemade breads. The restaurant has been in business since 1982 and was purchased by Griffith in October 2011.
