People in Tucson will want to travel to the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park for two special February events.
One of these will be a special presentation by Jack Lasseter on Geronimo. Lasseter will cover the period of time up to 1886 when the Southwest was rife with the breakouts and raids of Juh, Victorio, Nana, and Geronimo. He will also cover stories about Lozen, the Apache female warrior, and the break between Geronimo and his lifelong friend Chatto.
This talk will be held this Saturday, February 6 beginning at 2:00 pm. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served. There is a cost of $15 for the lecture, with a portion of the proceeds going to ‘Save the Presidio’.
The Tubac Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting the Tubac Festival of the Arts. For the 57th year, this Festival will have on display the work of hundreds of visiting artists and craft persons from around the country and Canada. There will also be a food court with a variety of cuisines. This event will be taking place from Wednesday, February 10 through Sunday, February 14, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
