The upcoming ‘BEYOND Tucson’ event, celebrating health, diversity, and goodwill, will be taking place at the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area and in more than 25 other sites throughout the region this weekend. The Coronado National Forest will waive all day-use and parking fees.
Numerous activities are planned for the day. Between 8:00 am and 11:00 am, people are invited to stroll, roller skate, or take a leisurely walk along the CDO Wash from Shannon and Magee south on the paved and flat trail to Thornydale. Free sidewalk chalk will be available for sharing thoughts along the path and local celebrities will be on hand to say hello.
Beginning at 8:30 am, there will be a free, non-competitive five-mile social run on the roads of Saguaro National Park West. All ages and abilities of runners and walkers are invited.
Kids of all ages are invited to participate in the Kidical Mass Family-Friendly Bike Ride at 1:00 pm in downtown Tucson for a safe and fun ride. There will be trained guides, all types of bikes, and free helmets provided by members of the El Grupo Youth Cycling team.
