Tempe to host talk on climate change

Climate Stories and Sustainable Solutions will be presented by news group The 19th at the Rob and Melani Walton Center for Planetary Health in Tempe later this month.

Leaders from the southwestern part of the United States will come together to discuss their efforts on climate change. Arizona State University is partnering with the 19th News to host an afternoon of conversations on climate that will be interactive and focused on solutions. These leaders will talk about their work to protect land and their communities from climate change and will tell stories about their work to empower and educate their audience members.

Among the featured speakers will be Amanda Hensen, Deputy Secretary for Climate Change at the California Natural Resources Agency; Michelle Chubb, a TikTok Content Creator; and Wawa Gatheru, Founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Environmentalist. After the main program, attendees will be able to get some food at no cost from a couple of food trucks based in the area, and engage in more intimate discussions with the speakers.

People appreciate the opportunity to attend such events where handouts and other printed materials can be made available from local Stationery printers.

This event will take place on Monday, November 13. Doors will open at 2:30pm. with the program running from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. Following the program, there will be refreshments and a solutions session. This event is free and open to the public.
