Tempe to hold student contest for law day
Students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades attending schools in Tempe are invited by the Tempe Municipal Court to take part in the art contest for Law Day 2023.
Participants can sketch, paint, or create a collage that demonstrates what the constitution of the United States means to them as a cornerstone of democracy. Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible and put their art and graphic design skills to use.
Students can work alone or in groups of two. Paint, colored pencils, crayons, or any other medium can be used. The size of the submitted posters can be no larger than 11 inches by 17 inches. More details about the criteria and due dates for such contests are often made available with flyer printing.
There will be six winners. The two in first place will receive $50 each, the two second-place winners will receive $25 each, and the two third-place winners will receive $20 each.
Monday, April 24 will be the last day submissions will be accepted. All entries will be displayed at the Tempe History Museum from Tuesday, May 2 through Sunday, May 14. An invitation will be sent to all winners and their teachers to attend a meeting of the City Council on Thursday, May 4 and have their picture taken with the mayor of Tempe, Corey Woods.
