The first cross-laminated timber office building in Arizona will be constructed in Tempe. The building is being developed by Urban Development Partners in partnership with Mortenson. Transwestern Commercial Services (TCS) has been selected by Mortenson for leasing of the building.
Scott Baumgarten, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director of TCS, Mark Stratz, are overseeing the leasing. Baumgartner expressed his excitement about being part of this unique project, which he noted is in a walkable and sustainable city. Brochure printing can be used by such companies to provide further details about buildings and their leasing options.
The building will be 182,00 square feet in size. Layers of natural timber are combined to make the cross-laminated timber, which is environmentally friendly. The solid timber will be combined with steel, concrete, and glass so that the building will have a more modern appearance. Inside, there will be ceilings reaching 15 feet in height with exposed wood beams and columns, and the floor plans for the office space will be flexible to offer a more creative environment.
The building is accessible to Highway 22 and is near Arizona State University. The Fifth Street and Ash Avenue streetcar station, which will be opening in 2021, is adjacent to the building. The building is expected to be finished by the end of next year.
