Half Ear, a southern white rhino, recently passed away at the Phoenix Zoo, and an event has been planned for Tempe in her honor.
This former ambassador for the Zoo and endangered animals in general will serve as the inspiration behind this year’s Tempe’s Bowling for Rhinos, which is a fundraiser that takes place in 80 different locations across the continent. Each year, it raises hundreds of thousands that is used to help protect endangered species and their habitats. The lighthearted bowl-a-thon will see the participants gather in a festive atmosphere, and there will be food and drinks available for purchase, as well as an assortment of other activities.
The early bird registration fee, including a custom designed T-shirt, has been set at $40, while those who do not wish to receive a shirt will only be asked to pay $30. The registration on the day of the function will open at 5:30 pm, and on the day of the fundraiser, the ticket price will be $45, which does not include the shirt. A local printer can use graphic design technology to craft the logo for events such as this.
Bowling for Rhinos has been planned for July 22 in Tempe Village Lanes. Anyone who would like to obtain further details can do so on the organization’s website.
