Tempe ready for takeoff without fear

Those who live in Tempe and who avoid air travel because they are afraid of flying are invited to an event that has been planned with them in mind.

Participants in the Fearless Flight class will learn how to rebuild a sense of control surrounding their airplane experience. This will be accomplished through education about their fear, learning coping strategies, and how to avoid rumination about a topic that can lead to anxiety and panic. Through meeting others in the same situation as themselves, they will discover they are not alone, which, according to the organizer, can further help to alleviate their concerns.

For part of the workshop, participants will have a chance to sit in an actual airliner so that they can further address their feelings of nervousness and anxiety. Anyone who registers can bring along a friend or other person to support them if they need it.

Cleared for Takeoff LIVE with Captain Ron is being offered free of charge. It will take place on October 8 at Terminal 4 of the Sky Harbor International Airport. Registration must be completed ahead of time, and due to security requirements, it needs to be done exactly as directed. A company that prints Brochures can produce ones to promote events such as this to those who may be interested in taking part.

Both further details and an opportunity to register can be found on its Eventbrite webpage.
