Being employed for the first time can be an exciting and daunting experience for a young person, and a Tempe event will help local youth brush up on their interviewing skills to help them land that first job.
The Tempe Public Library will serve as the venue for Youth Mock Interview A Palooza, which will see members of the public who are between the ages of 14 to 22 engage in a dry run of an interview with an employer. At the conclusion of their session, each participant will be able to receive immediate feedback and other tips that they can use to impress their potential boss when they apply for a job in the real world.
Along with the mock interviews, anyone who participates will be able to find out more about the different resources that exist in the community to help them land a job. It is being brought to the area by the Tempe Mayor’s Commission on Disability Issues and the Rehabilitation Services Administration.
The event is free, and all local youth will be most welcome to take part. A local printing company can supply Copies of résumés as well as premium Business Cards and other materials that can be useful to young job seekers.
The event will take place in the Tempe Public Library on November 14. Attendees are reminded to dress to impress and bring along their résumé.
