The Sunbar Tempe will be filled with distinctive sound of techno music when the German duo Cosmic Gate comes next weekend.
Active since the late 1990s, Cosmic Gate comprises Claus Terhoeven “Nic Chagall” and Stefan Bossems “Bossi.” They transitioned from their early hard trance sound to a more progressive style by the mid-2000s.
With the resurgence of the trance genre in the early 2010s, Cosmic Gate once again tapped into their musical roots during this era, which culminated in a Grammy nomination for their remix of the song Only Road by Gabriel & Dresden.
The pair is known for some unusual remixes, including for the movie soundtracks for Avatar and Titanic. However, even their own original tracks often gain millions of plays on streaming serves, such as their Exploration of Space garnering 40 million streams on Spotify.
Cosmic Gate’s current tour includes stops in Utah, New York, Nevada, Washington, and Texas , as well as Canada, their home nation Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Netherlands.
For the Tempe show, audiences can expect Cosmic Gate to perform some of their biggest hits, including the aforementioned Exploration of Space, REFLEXION (ASOT 2023 Anthem), and Fire Wire - Radio Edit.
