Independence Day celebration gets new Tempe venue
An annual Independence Day celebration is moving to a new home in Tempe this year, this time located at the Tempe Diablo Stadium.
The same festival was held at Tempe Beach Park last year and most iterations prior. The change in venue comes after the City of Tempe signalled it would be seeking a different event management company for future Independence Day celebrations.
For the past five decades, the Kiwanis Club of Tempe has run the Independence Day celebrations, helping to raise millions in charity donations along the way. In a statement, a spokesperson for the City of Tempe said:
The Diablo Stadium has hosted fireworks celebrations in past years, has plenty of parking, and offers in-house food vendors. There is also a grass field and an open sky structure for people to view the fireworks, which will once again be part of this year’s celebration.
The event will also include a drone show, live music, games, and more. Holiday celebrations like this may choose to use flyer printing for low-cost promotion.
The Tempe 4th of July Celebration is on July 4 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Tempe Diablo Stadium at 2200 W. Alameda Dr. Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 online, and children 12 and under are free.
