Next week, Tempe folks will get the chance to enjoy an evening with the music of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons as presented by Jersey Boys.
Guests will no doubt remember such classic songs as ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’, ‘Rag Doll’, ‘Oh, What a Night’, and ‘Sherry’. Those familiar songs that the group wrote themselves, complemented by their one-of-a kind harmonies, sold over 175 million records worldwide.
This is the second national tour for Jersey Boys. The first one began in 2006 with 71 performances, and closed in 2013. This second tour was launched in 2011 to rave reviews and has played 58 performances thus far. The show includes all of the group’s original hits.
Jersey Boys won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Musical Show Album and a 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The evening’s entertainment depicts the rise of the Four Seasons from their blue-collar backgrounds to pop music icons. Authentic Jersey language and street-life situations make the show mainly for adults. Also the group’s signature red jackets should make colorful subjects for poster printing.
This concert performance will take place next Tuesday, July 22, at 7:30 pm at ASU Grammage, 1200 S Forest Ave, Tempe. Other performances will run at the same venue from July 23 through August 3.
