Scottsdale’s Talking Stick Resort is hosting a performance by Gene Simmons and his band this August.
Simmons is a co-founder of the multi-Gold record-winning KISS, considered one of the pioneers of the glam rock movement of the 1970s.
As a performer, Simmons is known to play songs from both KISS’s catalogue, including rare tracks, and that of his own solo career. He’s also known to encourage audience participation during his concerts.
In terms of Simmons’ personal favorite KISS albums, he said in a recent interview that they include Creatures Of the Night, Destroyer and Revenge.
When he’s not on stage, Simmons enjoys running the Legends Of Rock convention in Las Vegas, in which fans can meet and greet with rock and roll stars.
He’s also an advocate for singer-songwriters to get fair compensation from radio play of their songs.
Simmons also has an entrepreneurial side. As a member of KISS, he spearheaded the band’s merchandising efforts. Through more than 5,000 trademarked products, KISS holds the record for generating the most revenue from licensing agreements of any band.
