Scottsdale invited to Indigenous culinary experience
As a nod to Native American Heritage Month, Scottsdale locals are in for a treat as The Arizona Indigenous Food Symposium and the Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience will be taking place in mid-November.
Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized Native American tribes, all of which have a long and rich history. The Symposium will offer presentations by representatives of many of them, and will cover topics such as traditional foods, herbs, and medicinal plants grown in Arizona for hundreds of years. How food was grown, prepared, served and preserved will also be shown.
The Culinary Experience will allow attendees to sample authentic Native American cuisine in an art-filled environment while listening to indigenous music and watching live performances. Food will be distributed via tasting stations with many including demonstrations and interactions with chefs. General admission tickets will be $44.52 and $76.54 for VIPs. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
History buffs may want to arrange flyer printing at local printing services in order to place flyers around town and get the word out about events like this.
The Arizona Indigenous Food Symposium and the Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience will be at Western Spirit: Scottsdaleās Museum of the West at 3830 North Marshall Way. The Symposium will take place on Saturday, November 15 and the Culinary Experience will take place the following day. Both will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
