Scottsdale's Railroad Park will be presenting Red, White and Choo Choo in early July, and Slide the Rails in early August.
The park will be celebrating this year's Independence Day with a blend of old-school and modern attractions and family fun. Train rides will be available between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets will be priced at $3 per person.
The carousel will offer rides from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets for these rides will also be $3. The Roundhouse will be open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with $6 admission. Lawn games will be free throughout the event. Parks that offer multiple events like this usually get visitor brochure printing done way before the season gets underway.
House music will be the music entertainment from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the Groove Machine, a high-energy band playing classic favorites, top 40 hits and dance music from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Festivities will end after the fireworks, which will run from 9:00 pm to 9:20 pm July 3rd.
The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, 7301 E. Indian Bend Road, will also feature Slide the Rails. That morning the park will become a mini water park with splash zones, foam pit, giant inflatable water slides, and water balloon fun.
Slide the Rails will take place Saturday, August 1st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
