Queen Creek to honor local heroes at luncheon

The winners of the Queen Creek Hometown Heroes Award will be recognized at an event this August.

The Queen Creek Independent, a local online newspaper, rewards an individual or business for service to the community or other significant achievements each month. The newspaper looks for those who demonstrate mentorship, leadership, and willingness to partner with others. Each year, the previous 12 award winners are honored at a luncheon. The event will include a sit-down lunch, a summary of each Hometown Heroes’ accomplishments, a formal presentation of the awards, and time for socializing.

Hometown Heroes Awards are divided into several categories. Recent winners include longtime supporter of those in need Mary Gloria in the lifetime achievement category, experienced firefighter Joshua Berry in the first responder category, and 14-year-old president of the Crimson High School Future Business Leaders of America Ryland Jones in the leader of tomorrow category.

Tickets to this year’s luncheon are available now on Independent Newsmedia’s website. The cost is $50 per person or $360 per table of eight people. Registrants should note which award recipient they will be celebrating. Organizers often work with Print shops to create programs for this type of event.

The Queen Creek Hometown Heroes Awards Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, August 28 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Encanterra Country Club.
