The Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 9th Annual Elevate for Tomorrow College and Career Readiness Conference for local high school juniors this winter.
Elevate for Tomorrow is a half-day program designed to help students both build skills and explore career options. It will open with a presentation from local business leaders, who will discuss overcoming challenges, resilience and adapting plans. Students will then choose from nine breakout sessions, which will cover practical topics like living on campus, building a resume, financial literacy and achieving goals.
After the breakout sessions, students will visit the career fair area, which will feature 40 colleges and employers. Representatives often use brochure printing services to share information about their schools or programs. Businesses interested in sponsoring or participating in the event can email the Chamber to discuss options. More than 800 students from Queen Creek and nearby towns will have the option to attend.
Past attendees have reported feeling more confident and more focused on the future after attending Elevate for Tomorrow. Students also describe being more aware of their options and being better prepared to take steps toward their goals. The Chamber has chosen to work with the junior class because they have more time to adjust their post-high school plans than older students.
Elevate for Tomorrow will take place on Friday, January 9, starting at 8 am at the ASU Polytechnic Campus.
