Queen Creek runners to support teen mental health

The Rotary Club of Queen Creek is hosting its second annual Run for Resilience this April.

Participants can choose to either run or walk the 5k course, which is relatively flat and is located in Horseshoe Park. Registration will open at 6:30 am and the race will start at 7:30 am. Runners can eat a light breakfast of fruit, granola bars, and Gatorade both before and after the race. Awards will be presented at around 8:15 am to the top three finishers in each of 16 different age categories.

Those planning to participate can register now. The cost is $35 per adult and $25 per person for those under 18. Participants can either sign up online or mail in a check and registration form. Same-day registration will be available for $45. Runners will receive a race T-shirt, and they are welcome to bring their dogs on leashes. Organizations often use Graphic Design Services to design their race shirts.

The trail is not paved, so the organizers do not recommend it for strollers or wheelchair users.

Funds raised by the race will support local mental health programs and resources for teens. Mental healthcare providers and related vendors will be represented at the event.

The Queen Creek Rotary Run for Resilience will take place on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 am at Horseshoe Park.
