The Town of Queen Creek will now be running the annual community Christmas celebration.
The event, previously called the Queen Creek Holiday Festival and Parade and hosted by the Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce, is now called Queen Creek Hometown Christmas. This year’s celebration will include both a Friday evening tree lighting and a Saturday morning parade. Towns often use flyer printing services to promote their community events.
Friday’s activities will include photos with Santa, performances from local arts groups, an ornament-decorating workshop and a selection of food trucks. Children can also write letters to Santa. Those interested in helping with the event can sign up to volunteer on the Town of Queen Creek’s website.
Saturday’s parade will feature floats representing local businesses, school bands and other organizations. The theme is “A Storybook Christmas,” so all parade entries will be inspired by popular Christmas Books. The parade route goes down Ellsworth Avenue, and the organizers recommend south of Victoria Road for the best viewing spots. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, and they will be able to vote for their favorite floats on the town website.
Queen Creek’s Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 6 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The Hometown Christmas Parade will be the following day, Saturday, December 7 from 10 am to 12 pm.
