Fun film to be screened in Chandler

Although health concerns have changed the way many organizations operate, it is still possible to enjoy a movie safely, as will be proven in Chandler later this month.

The Chandler International Film Festival is taking patrons back to the days of the drive-in, and presenting the classic holiday film, “Home Alone.” Patrons will be able to celebrate the holiday with their family and friends from the safety of their cars, as the movie will be shown in the parking lot of the Chandler Center for the Arts. In addition, there will be food trucks at the event.

“Home Alone” was released in 1990, with Macaulay Culkin starring as an eight-year-old mistakenly left alone at Christmas. When two burglars break into his house, it is up to the boy to defeat them, in a series of hilarious pranks.

Chris Columbus, who went on to direct the first two “Harry Potter” films, was at the helm of this effort, which grossed $476.7m, making it the highest-grossing comedy ever made, a record that stood until 2011. The success of the first film established a franchise that now spawned four sequels, with a fifth on the way.

The event is set for December 19, from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm. The admission fee is $20 per vehicle, regardless of the number of occupants. Poster printing can be used to spread the word about events like this.
