The FMSQ National Cross-Country Championship Series will be returning to the Fredericton area this August for a weekend full of motocross, e-bike and quad racing.
The competition typically attracts over 450 racers from across the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario to tackle races of various time lengths, seeing who can travel more distance across in a set amount of time ranging from 20 minutes to two and a half hours. In addition to traditional motorcycles, there will be electronic bikes and four-wheeled “quad” cycles. Each distance will include different classifications based on experience, age and gender, making sure that everyone can take part. There will also be a friendly race between electric stability cycles intended for younger riders.
The race location will be Crabbe Mountain, a popular location for Fredericton skiers and other sportspeople. Spectators can watch the races from the sidelines as well as from patios up and down the mountain. The race is the fifth round of the FMSQ (Fédération des Motocyclistes de Sentiers du Québec) series, which takes place throughout eastern Canada, leading up to a national championship at a location to be announced. Motorsports like this often use methods like banner printing and music to help make the race course feel like a party.
The 2025 FMSQ National Cross-Country Championships will come to Crabbe Mountain in Central Hainesville on August 2 and 3.
