The group will be performing its “Ten Thousand Hours” show, named after the allegorical amount of time needed to master a skill. The inclusive and family-friendly show features eight expert acrobats performing tricks, flips and artistic compositions that reflect their dedication to mastery and hard work. Advertising for the show explains that:
“This is an ode to the countless hours needed to achieve great things. A tribute to the dedication required to realize our physical ambitions. [...] This is a love letter to our bodies and the amazing things they let us do every day.”
Circus and variety shows like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to attract interested locals and grow brand awareness. Ten Thousand Hours is one of six touring shows Gravity & Other Myths perform based on physical motion, including Out of Chaos and A Simple Space. The Australian-based company will be in Fredericton as part of a tour throughout Eastern Canada, including stops in four Maritime cities.
Gravity & Other Myths’ “Ten Thousand Hours” performance will take place at the Fredericton Playhouse on the evening of April 17, as part of the Playhouse’s Spotlight Series. Discount tickets are available for young audience members.
