The play is an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel about four sisters in 19th century America trying to find their place in the world. The stage musical was adapted by Jason Howland, Mindi Dickstein and Alan Knee, and premiered on Broadway in 2005 before going on tour. The stage musical dramatizes scenes from the novel as well as the stories the character Jo writes.
The Birch & Teal adaptation features local acting and musical talent from the Fredericton area, with the four March sisters played by Jill Pelkey, Marianna Mills, Katie Hazzard and Kathleen McGroarty.
