Fredericton magic show to unravel mystery

A pair of Canadian magicians will be bringing a unique stage show to Fredericton this October, presenting a cryptic mystery.

The story is presented by illusionists Ted and Marion Outerbridge, and is based on their viral internet posts about moving into a century-old Victorian house. The performance, dubbed “Mysteries of the Keyhole House”, transforms that story into a Las Vegas-esque magic show with elaborate stagecraft, from mysteriously appearing doors to disappearing objects.

The stage show combines large-scale illusion with theatre and dance to create a multi-media experience. The Outerbridges are veteran illusionists who have been featured at Hollywood’s Magic Castle and on national news. Advertising emphasizes the narrative nature of the performance and its potential wide appeal:

“Piece by piece, the Outerbridges draw you deeper into a world where nothing is quite what it seems. Perfect for families and anyone who loves a good mystery. There are surprises around every corner.”

“Mysteries of the Keyhole House” is part of the Fredericton Playhouse’s Spotlight Series event, with discount tickets available for members and audience members 25 and under. Magic performances and other unique stage performances often use social media clips and flyer printing to help attract curious audience members.

The Fredericton performance of “Mysteries of the Keyhole House” will take place on the evening of October 25 at the Fredericton Playhouse.
