The annual Capital Art Sale will be back in Fredericton this May, aiming to offer affordable art from Maritime artists.
The sale will feature a collection of work reflecting a diverse set of media and styles. Works include paintings, photography, pottery, jewellery and more. Modern artists often use printing services to create artistic prints or mixed media work. Available works will be hung in a gallery-style presentation, and will be available directly for purchase. All works will be priced under $500.
New artwork will be added to the walls throughout the weekend. The Art Sale will kick off with an opening night reception, featuring refreshments and a chance to have the first look at the artwork. VIP tickets will be available for purchase, offering early access to the reception, a “swag bag” of items from local artists and vendors, access to an overstock room and two drink tickets. Other admission will be free.
There will also be special events taking place throughout the weekend. The sale area will include a drop-in workshop space where visitors can get hands-on with artistic tools and media and channel their own creativity. Attendees will be able to take a load off at the Gallery Grotto, described as an “on-site living room”.
The 2026 edition of the Capital Art Sale will take place from May 6 to 9 at the Capital Exhibit Centre in Fredericton.
