Winter festival to return to Fredericton

Fredericton will be hosting its annual Frostival event this January, celebrating winter in all its Forms, including both indoor and outdoor activities.

The OG Estate in Magaguadavic will be open for one weekend for its Winter Wonderland experience, including an Igloo Dome, an OG Foodie Experience with a five-course meal and a trail of lights including the Illumines Night Walk. Other outdoor activities include outdoor ice skating at Officers’ Square and various public parks and trails that will be holding special events.

Crabbe Mountain will feature discounted tickets for skiing and snowboarding, including the Crabbe’s Never Ever Days promotion for those hitting the slope for the first time. The Mountain will also host the Torque Motorsports King of the Mountain snowmobile races on January 25. Frostival describes itself as the largest winter celebration in Atlantic Canada, and aims at being family-friendly and accessible to all.

Indoor events will include the Shivering Songs music festival, which brings internationally renowned singers and storytellers to downtown Fredericton. Many of the capital’s finest restaurants will participate in the Dine Around Freddy festival, offering three-course prix fixe Menus. Winter festivals like this often use decoration and undertake banner printing to help welcome people in from the cold.

The 2026 edition of Frostival will take place from January 22 to February 8 at various locations throughout Fredericton.
