Charleston festival offers wine and all that jazz

Many friends of the arts here in South Charleston will be attending The Fund for the Arts West Virginia and Spilman Thomas & Battle's 25th annual Wine and Jazz Festival coming in the latter half of June.

DJ Selecta will start things off at 3:00 pm. He will be followed by Jenny Wilson at 3:50 pm and the Bob Thompson Unit at 5:10 pm. The Audacity Brass Band will take over at 6:40 pm, and Jennifer Hartswick will end the evening beginning at 8:30 pm. Wines and food will be available for purchase.

Attendees will be allowed to bring blankets and chairs.

Proceeds from the event will go to support operating expenses for 11 local arts organizations. A few of these will be the Charleston Ballet, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and the Charleston Chamber Music Society.

Members of organizations that are supported by events such as this often get flyer printing done to get the word out.

Tickets are $40 until June 8th, and $50 thereafter. Children 12 and under will receive free admission wristbands. Tickets will include admission to the venue and seven hours of music. Revenue from the ticket sales will go to the venue and musicians.

The Wine and Jazz Music Festival will be located on the University of Charleston lawn, June 22nd, from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
